2017 Tesla 90D Receives Ultimate New Car Prep

CALL (210) 863-1633

Some people assume when they buy a new car at the dealership that it is as perfect upon delivery as it will every be. That simply is not true. between the final inspection at the factory and the day you take delivery, a car may have led a pretty tough life. From transport to being washed on the dealer lot, a car often is far from perfect by the time you get handed the keys.

That is where the Ultimate New Car Prep from Jay’s Detail comes in. We turn back the clock to when the car was near perfect at the factory final inspection and then implement protection to keep it looking that way. Follow along as we take this brand new 2017 Tesla 90D from an “off the lot” condition to the near perfect specimen that Elon Musk intended.

Some of the damage we encounter on new cars was present on this Tesla before we started the New Car Prep.

The very first thing we do is correct the paint to remove any of these imperfections. As you can see in the picture below, after paint correction, the paint is near percent and ready to be protected.

However, before we move onto the protection, we want to enhance the looks and provide protection to the occupants and the interiors surfaces by installing a Spectra Photosync, Infrared rejecting window film in a 35%. This film gives the car a terrific look and will significantly reduce the heat and UV rays entering the car through the glass.

Now it is time to move onto the protection phase of the prep. This particular client chose to have all painted surfaces protected with clear paint protection film. As you can see in the following pictures, we take pride in offering full coverage in a way that makes any seams nearly undetectable. This allows you to enjoy the protection while maintaining the great looks.

Now that the car is fully protected, we move onto the preservation phase. This is where we take all the hard work that we have done to make this car look perfect and coat the car to help it stay looking this great for many miles to come. For this process, we chose to coat all painted surfaces, including wheels and brake calipers, with Gyeon Mohs +. This will give the car a lasting finish.

The end results speak for themselves. This is how Elon Musk imagined this car would look before it spent time in transport and time on the dealer lot. It is near perfect, and now it has the protection and preservation to help keep it that way.
