When you buy a new or used car you want to do what you can to protect and preserve that investment. You can start with a nice detail, polish and paint sealant to protect the exterior finish of the vehicle. Or, if you want maximum finish durability, you can consider a paint coating like Cquartz. In addition, you can apply a high heat rejecting window film that rejects UV protecting you and your interior. Then, you can take steps prevent damage from rock chips, bugs and road debris damaging the paint. This can be done with an application of Paint Protection Film, also know as Clear Bra.
The client profiled in this post came to Jay’s Detail for ideas on what he can do to protect his new Tesla. We discussed polishing the surface and what was required versus what was needed. We covered the Window Film options, various hues, different heat rejection rate, warranties, etc. Finally, we explained the benefits of a Ceramic Paint Coating & Paint Protection Film to protect the exterior finish. After consultation, we decided to go with our New Car Protection Package which will provide maximum protection of this brand new Tesla Model S. We start with the decontamination wash, then polish to remove defects in the paint, prep the vehicle and install Paint Protection Film and then finally applying our Exclusive coating CQuartz Finest. As a final touch, the windows will receive our Prestige Film Technologies Spectra Photosync.

During the inspection we found some random isolated sections of defects that we polished out prior to applying our paint protection film.
The bumper piece fitment is precise.
The nose cone, which probably gets the most impact damage, gets covered as well.
Another high impact area on the Tesla Model S is the headlights. With all of our clear bra services we add film to the headlights and fog lights.
On the hood we use bulk film that can be formed to fit and wrap underneath the edges for a truly seamless install.

We move on to the front fenders and doors. Which were all customized to have the leading edges wrapped inwards so the film isn’t exposed.

During the install we position the film to fit precisely to the panel it’s getting applied to. We utilize our software and plotters to create a pattern that is customized to each clients needs. We can cut anything you need in-house at any given time.
We removed the emblems on the rear hatch so that no edges are visible.
The hatch we custom installed to complete it in one piece. The original pattern for this hatch is two pieces with a top and rear facing section. Applying this in one piece requires experience with installing a piece of film this large, but the end result looks better than having seams on it.
Hatch tacked down, we start on the trimming process.
Lower tailgate section.
The rear quarters and rear bumper of all Tesla’s seem prone to accidental damage, so we applied film to the rear bumper as well to help protect against accidental damage from such things like runaway shopping carts.
After the full car wrap was complete we moved on to the window tint. We decided on Spectra Photosync 35% on the side glass. Spectra Photosync, even in the lighter shades can still block up to 65% heat from entering the vehicle. This film is one of the best heat rejecting films on the market!
