Tech Marvel Nissan GTR meets Paint Protection Technology

Few would argue that the Nissan GTR represents automotive technology at its finest. This car packs so many high-tech systems that it has been equated to bringing a video game to the road. With something that represents the pinnacle of automotive technology, you don’t want to protect it with old school paint protection technology. That is why the owner of this beauty brought it to Jay’s to have a full SunTek Ultra paint protection wrap installed followed by a coating of Cquartz Finest Reserve ceramic paint coating.
Before we can get started, we have to fully decontaminate and clean the paint to prepare the surface for the Suntek Paint Protection film. This step is critical because any contaminant left on the surface of the paint would be sealed in once the paint protection film was installed. This decontamination bath enables us to get the surface as clean as possible.
Now, we move onto installing the custom, full coverage SunTek paint protection film install. To achieve full coverage you need to remove some vents, badges, etc. to get the film installed right to the edge. This also eliminates and unsightly edges or seams in the protection film. In this picture, you can see the hood vents removed to take the paint protection film to the edge of the openings.
Similar to the hood above, we fully wrap all panels to ensure not only total protection, but a visually appealing install free from visible edges and seams.
Notice the side bodywork removed to allow installation underneath. After the paint protection cures, the panels and re-installed for a flawless finish.
Same thing for the mirrors. You won’t even be able to tell the paint protection film is there, but you will be protected!
Even large pieces are installed in one piece to avoid any seams in the protection.
After installation, all badges, emblems, vents and bodywork are carefully reinstalled.
