Black Dodge Charger Hellcat Gets Automotive Paint Protection Package

Taking care of any vehicle can be tough, but it is even more challenging with a black car. Black looks terrific when clean, but it shows everything, including those irritating rock chips and etch marks from things like bird droppings. That is why the owner of this new Dodge Charger Hellcat brought it in for our automotive paint protection package.

This package is designed to combat the most pressing paint protection needs and consists of applying paint protection film to the complete front clip and then a ceramic paint coating over the exterior painted surfaces. The first step though is a foam decontamination bath. This allows us to begin the preparation for applying the paint protection film and ceramic paint coating. This will remove all of the loose contaminants on the paint.

We follow the decontamination bath with a full wheel cleaning that includes iron decontamination to prepare the wheels for the ceramic paint coating to be applied later.

We then clay bar the vehicle. This is a process that not everyone is familiar with, but it is critical to do before we move on. The process of using clay bar removes all the embedded contaminants in the paint. This will leave the vehicle surface completely decontaminated and ready to have the film and coating applied.

Once the surface is fully decontaminated, we move to the paint correction phase. This is where we use a multi-step process to remove any scratches or imperfections in the paint. The reason for this is obvious. we are getting ready to apply a film and coating over this painted surface. The end result will only look as good as the underlying surface. If there are scratches, they would just be protected scratches if we didn’t remove them. So, we take the time to make the painted surfaces as pristine as possible before we begin applying the paint protection film.
